Dreams I Dream

Just a poem abouts our dreaming moments , real ..or not

DREAMS I DREAM
When I woke with sunbeams streaming in on dawns early light ,
I wondered what happened in the dream I dreamed last night .

I know it was exciting , frightening , and you were there ,
I think we kissed , and I held you to show that I care .

For one glorious moment I thought it was real ,
I thought that the love we dreamt, you too did feel .

But then I awoke and with impending dread ,
I Realised that your love was all in my head .

How cruel is fate to inflict pain in this way ,
but with dreams, we don’t choose the subject, we have no say.

If we could, then we would be together on a sun kissed beach,
your body wrapped in mine , your mouth in easy reach.

We would kiss , and plan to marry , because love works that way,
Then I realise that sun has set , the clocks ticks ,its bedtime and time to dream way another day .

The reason why I liked this poem is because of the idea of the dream that you live and think is so true on a kissed beach then wake up and find it was actually a dream..wonderful write!

The last line is it "way" or away?

A lot of thought flows within this piece and it fits with it being Spring.
