Recurring DreamA Poem by Poetry PigI wrote this and figured I'd show everyone since it is one of my personal favorites.
Staring up at the moon with you by that lake
We knew this would be the last time And it isn't a secret that we are both afraid We sit in quiet for if we speak, it will be a goodbye I don't want to leave, but it's getting late As the water gathers in our eyes You beg for me to stay You say this could be a new start We could be happy and mend our broken hearts That we can rekindle a flame with just a spark But deep down, we know we are only shadows Left in the shade I wish there was some other way But this love we shared has slowly decayed There's no way to return from a rusted state And as I begin to walk away The sun comes up from its sleep The rays pointing behind me I turn my head back to something I always expect to see Where you stood just moments before Were a set of footprints on the shore And the light shining on just a memory... © 2015 Poetry PigAuthor's Note
