What We've Ruined

What We've Ruined

A Poem by Poetry Pig
"

Some innovation can lead to something that may change future generations for the worst.

"
We used to look up in the sky and see stars
Laid in a field for hours, waiting for the sun to go down
And the moon would come out
But, the dust and smog are all the world knows now
Smoke covers the atmosphere in a thick cloud
The only lights we see now, are cities and headlights of cars
That green field of ours has become lost by paved streets
Everyone enslaved by industries that only want money
And the growing of greed only leads to war and poverty
If time could only rewind or even slow for awhile
Then maybe people could see the damage they are leaving
Slowly we lose our smiles, and think of the future
And what it will bring
For now we go along for the ride, as we live
And as we die
I guess it takes going past that line of no return
To finally learn, that the harm we've inflicted
Only leaves a lifetime of hurt, never to be lifted

Sometimes we have no choice but to cross the line of no return. Whether for better or worse, it could help us grow as individuals and find something new. Before we do something, we should think about the good and bad outcomes to plan out, think of something new or a way around the bad outcomes and move on.
