Flashback

A Poem by Poetry Pig
"

Whether you're fighting with a friend, a family member, girlfriend/boyfriend, think about what else you're destroying.

"
As I sit on this coast
I see flashbacks of that boat
Right here it sank
They say the lighthouse light never shown
And the wind made each yell so faint
No one really knows
Because each of the men now sit
On shadowed thrones
Shedding salt tears every so often
Only to be forgotten
Never remembered
Built of nothing but hope
Could withstand the beating if the sea
Except the crew never made it home
This vessel now sits alone
On the bottom of the ocean
Next to this cliff side
Where I've sat every night
Thinking to myself
If I was there to shine that light
Instead of with you and our fight
Those men would still be alive
Maybe I can go back in time
To change the mistakes I've made
That ship would sail away from these cliffs
The hurt that was felt would never exist
But here I sit on this coast
Making a toast with the ghosts
And we see flashbacks of that boat
