Silence

Silence

A Story by PoetryPenPal
"

I wrote this story for Halloween. I know it's REALLY late but I hope you like it anyway!

"

Trees sway with a breeze that would send chills down your spine, the wind cackling as it wizzed past like a mad scientist. She stood at the burial ground of her grandmother, surrounded by dead trees and the whispers in the wind. Suddenly, the trees stopped swaying, the wind stopped blowing, silence. Silence reigned on in the graveyard and Olivia looked around, piercing the silence with her jagged breath. She stood from her kneeling position and ambeled, then jogged, then sprinted as the graveyard stayed silent. She spun to see if anyone else noticed the stillness of the world; even the birds had fallen silent. Olivia looked over her sholder about two blocks from the graveyard, and saw a black cloud floating towards her. The shadow got closer, and closer. Then it closed in on her, and she screamed. She woke up in a cold sweat, staring at the ceiling of her room, and sighed in relief.
