Time Heals All Wounds

Time Heals All Wounds

A Poem by SoulFood

It still comes back to me
Randomly
It seems.

The tears I once shed
Over the dignity
I felt was lost
By your sheer force.

Though my choice was taken
From me
My dignity
My person-hood
Remained intact.

It was only overshadowed
By the pan
But it doesn't last
It's not permanent.

Although I will never be the same
The blame is not mine to carry
Nor is the shame.

I truly love this small piece of poetry and thanks for sharing the talent

A great loss, a difficult struggle, pain inflicted by another, acceptance and defiance, a powerful poem. Caution -- I would not label your profile Mature, but only your writing that is Mature. This poem, for example, would not require that label. The reason for this is two fold -- one, there are very good writers who do not like crass, swear filled pornography, who avoid Mature profiles all together, and 2, young people who are honest about their age are blocked from seeing you. If you know all this, cry pardon.

Thank you, KLgoode for your insight and feedback. I did not know that, and I will correct it. :)
