You, And Me, And God

You, And Me, And God

A Poem by EquivalentExchange

As the hole inside me,

grows bigger,

and emptier

I fill it with happy thoughts

with my supposed future

I fill it with God,

and I fill it with you

I fill it with music notes

wth deep bass drums

and violins in my dreams

it gets harder to move

as I sink in the dirt

I slide

to the sound of hi-hats

and snares

I move to the sound

of riffs

and to drift

off to sleep

would be so easy

the sound of your voice

a soft cadence

surrounded by sound

and static

and love

I fill it with dreams

of our hands locked tight

around all that we know

to my hand in your hair

and your head

againt my chest

from breaths that flow

across my skin

contrasted by horns

that raise with the volume

of our love swirling softly

in my head

it's just you,

and me,

and God,

and nothing else matters
