Born From BloodA Poem by EquivalentExchangeMy words are the product of a broken man who can't really love anyone when love shakes the world you're the one I'll fault
I remember a day in the past when love was flowers and song as they filled my ears, my life but somewhere along the line it all turned to conflict, and strife somewhere along, I found you and your blade found my chest "Et tu, brute?" and you laid me to rest
But somewhere along from lazarus womb I arose a new man clad in leather born from blood bound like a book covered in mud
And like wood swells in the rain stitches tore apart and I conceded, to the pain
I am the product of loving too much and forgetting, to seal the cracks so sail in hand, I sink my bow did break against the waves lying in the beach I kissed the last of the rays
It was only seven years ago but it felt like a hundred, and twelve when something once so perfect now ceases to be anything at all like a bird in your mouth I plunge, I scream, I fall © 2011 EquivalentExchangeAuthor's Note
