Brand New Disaster (Story of Mine)

Brand New Disaster (Story of Mine)

A Poem by EquivalentExchange
"

Are you the type of person, whom through one means or another, yearns to destroy everything they love?

"

You're my brand new disaster

you're what I've been looking for

something new, and something more

it's always nice to see

a previously untainted love

lying naked on the floor

broken, something sad

but darling, it's not all bad

I've yearned for this tragedy

something new to destroy

that's what you get with this boy

you were nothing, but another heart I broke

simply, for something to sing about

I don't want your love at my table

I don't need your heart on my sleeve

you didn't realize that you were unable

you didn't want to, you didn't believe

what they had said, what they had seen

I never even knew your name

you were never, ever to blame

I only bought it to throw it away

Your beautiful smile

was just another hit on my list

could you stay for a while?

and drown in my mist

you're just, the newest toy

you're my brand new disaster

I was headed for another collision

and you came crashing in

I don't pick them with precision

and they can never win

you smiled across the room

at the wrong boy

you were thread in my loom

you were my troy

and I was your trojan horse

you didn't even know my name

or that you'd be the main course

in this malevolent diner of mine

This is a story, where nobody's happy

and nothing is right

an imperfect world

where bodies line the streets

and you're afraid to leave a night

because you never know

when someone could steal your heart

you just never know

when your chest will be torn apart

You never know

when you'll play a part

in this blood stained, story of mine
