Inside the teenage mindA Poem by Kat
You don't know us
You don't know the wars we fight You don't know the enemies we make You don't know our lives So stop acting like you do Cause you don't What you know about our lives is what we tell you We tell you lies so you'll back up off us We tell you we're at our friends house studying But really We're out getting high or drunk and doing things we know we shouldn't We tell you that we're passing all our classes and we're doing our assignments But actually Our grades are D's and F's and we're slacking off cause we don't care enough to try You ask us how our classes were today and we make up a story Cause all we were doing was was skipping classes and running around the halls and vaping cause we don't give a s**t You want to know how are day went so when we get home you ask us "How did your day go?" and i say "it was fine" but really my day was s**t my best friend did s**t behind my back my crush lead me on my friend(s) are disappointed in me cause i made a bad decision You want to know what's really going on in my life? You want me to tell you the truth about my day? Fine Start by asking me "Do you want to talk? Are you doing okay today?" And we'll see how it goes from there Cause who knows if i'll care enough to tell you the truth today
