Time Won't Wait
A Poem by Melina
Time Won't Wait
Time won't wait,
It moves on by.
It won't stop moving
Not for you nor I.
The wind will blow,
It will make the breeze.
And prove everything has an end,
As the leaves fall from the trees.
The sun will shine,
It will shine bright.
It will make things grow,
It will spread its light.
But time won't stop,
No, it will continue to pass.
It doesn't care that we want to live forever,
In an instant the present becomes the past.
Our lives roll by,
Like the waves on the sea.
With a blink of an eye
There goes our eternity.
The clouds will continue to form,
And the rain will continue to fall.
The cycle of life takes over,
Fiercely ruling over all.
But time won't wait,
Time will go by.
Our life fades away,
With the blink of an eye. |

Your first and last stanzas are entirely beautiful, just as they should be in a solid poem. I really admire this, as I am someone who loves the concept of time.
