~A BENT SOUL~

~A BENT SOUL~

A Poem by Jillian Alexis
"

Words from my heart

"
An evil precense filled the room,
her time had come to be abused;
Submisive, her huge heart she gave,
and pleased them, just as any slave.
~
She closed her eyes as they began,
and clenched her chubby, dimpled hands;
She utterd not a single word,
though shattered was this little girl.
~
A small tear trinkled down her cheek,
a sign they said proved she was weak;
And so this precious, loving child,
forgot to laugh, and play, and smile.
~
They did more harm than they would know,
and now she stays at home, alone;
Her Spirit bent, her Heart is broke,
she gave up several years ago.
~
She feels the pain of worthlesness,
a feeling she can n'er forget;
And when she says her prayers at night,
she prays that they will be alright.

The poem told a sad story. A lot of hidden pain in the words. I like how you ended the poem.
"And when she says her prayers at night,
she prays that they will be alright."
Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
