~DEAR GRANDMA~

~DEAR GRANDMA~

A Poem by Jillian Alexis
"

My Grandma, whom I consider to be my Mother, since she raised me fron Birth, passed away last month...May, 2008... I was extremely close to her, and loved her with all my heart. I wrote this for her and my Grandpa. This is one reason why I have not bee

~DEAR GRANDMA~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My Dearest Grandma,
 I miss you so much;
Though I still can feel,
the love in your’ touch.
~
It hasn’t been long,
since God called you Home;
And I know that is why,
I feel sad and alone!
~
When you see Grandpa,
please give him a hug;
Tell him it’s from me,
          a small piece of my love.
~
I find myself wishing,
I could feel your’ warm touch;
Or once more tell Grandpa,
his love was enough.
~
It’s hard to explain,
the pain I now feel;
Since you are not here,
it just doesn’t seem real.
~
I have to go now,
I love you, you know;
I’ll see you both soon,
when God calls me Home.
A sad and beautiful poem. We must remember the good people in our life. The poem described good memories of a wonderful woman. I like the positive and beautiful ending to the excellent poetry.
Sad, but beautiful! I miss my grandparents too, but knowing you'll see them again helps!!
One can sense the sincerity of the emotion in this poem. As you can see in the reviews, people love their grand parents because they tend to be less controlling than the parents and grand children see them often as a source of wisdom and also affective complicity. Greatly expressed!!!
It is a lovely poem that expresses that deep hurt at losing you grandparents, especially your grandmother. I've lost all my grandparents so I have some idea how it must feel, but it is comforting to know that they are together in Heaven.
I'm glad I went digging through the poems today and happened upon your touching farewell. I lost my grandmother (who was like a mother) in 1980, but it seems like yesterday. I see you have not posted anything lately and I hope you are doing okay. Sharon
