~COTTON CANDY AND BUTTERFLIES~

I entered this poem in the...CuteNCuddly... contest. It was fun to write. I hope you all enjoy reading it.

 

 

~COTTON CANDY AND BUTTERFLIES~

 

Tucked softly beneath her blanket’s,

on a snowy, white Christmas Eve;

A child of five, closes her eye’s,

as slowly she drifts off to sleep.

~ 

She finds herself on a billowy Cloud,

which is floating among a blue Sky;

It’s as cuddly as her stuffed Teddy Bear,

and as soft as a Baby’s first sigh.

~ 

A Rainbow floats beside the child,

it’s beauty can not be described;

She reaches her hand out to touch it,

as another soft Cloud passes by.

~ 

They remind her of Cotton Candy,

for they’re soft and as light as air;

She snuggles up with her blankie,

cradling it with great care.

~ 

A Blue Bird flies above the Cloud,

singing a soft Lullaby;

A Butterfly flaps it’s colorful wing’s,

then dissappears in the Sky.

~ 

In the distance she hears a voice,

which is softly calling to her ;

She slowly awakens from her dream,

clutching her Teddy Bear's fur.
