![]() ~HER PARENT'S LOSS~A Poem by Jillian Alexis![]() This is a poem I wrote for a loved one, who experienced this horrific pain as a Child.![]()
“When’s mommy coming home,” the child asked her dad; He was an absent parent, but he was all she had. He squeezed her tiny hand, “She’s never coming back; She doesn’t love you anymore, because you’ve been so bad!” Her lips began to quiver, her brown eyes filled with tears; She looked down at the sidewalk, her heart consumed with fear. She jerked away from him, as down the street she ran; This was too much for any child, to ever understand. ~ In front of her small home, she saw a car parked there; A strange man tried to pick her up, her daddy only stared. “Now go with this nice man,” he told his eight year old; “He's here to take you far away, to a lovely "All Girls Home.” She sat in that car sobbing, while her daddy went inside; And as they quickly drove away, her heart began to die.
