The scar upon your soulA Poem by Lynn Higgsa poem aobut the residue from violence any kind of violent actw you as
The scar upon a soul When they scar your soul You're never the same just one small act or numerous ones over time does not matter the scar sticks no matter which Like a tattoocannot be remove if you forget it there something always bring it back does not go away those with the scar tried to hide it walking quietly around the issues thinking noone will know leaving the light out Hoping people won't see the scar that marks us for a life time thing that haunts our existence sometimes we go months even years not realizing it there one day without notice comes alive again something wild growing in a yard it break loose from it confines all who walk by see the weed breaking out of control we carefully pushed it back into the dark corner the shame of knowing that the scar still there wondering if everyone will see the damage from what they did the pain that does not go away it diminishes some lesson the impact but then out of nowhere it hits you again ready to let the world see the shame of what lies deep deep inside your soul tattoo that marks you for life you know You heard it before You seen the look of disgust in their eyes as you sought to explain its Your shame not theirs only witness of the tattoo left behind the darkness surrounding one act or many it does not matter a short time or long its all the same the darkness is just dark thoughts cross your mind you wonder is the punishment because you lived or the punishment that you carried the tattooo the scar on your soul always reminding you of that fateful time when someone had to let you know you were the nothing they needed to release their anger upon © 2012 Lynn Higgs |
