Pieces of Me

Pieces of me

 A Poem by Lynn Higgs

Pieces
Pieces of me
scattered all over the place again
reach to pull it all together
Just to be one like everyone else
Not sure it will ever come together
with the fluidity needed
retrieving what was taken
ability to feel whole
pieces fall away once again
it works for a short period

then with one word
to remind me of past times
for the pieces to separate once more
only able to look and see
how they all crash to the ground
wondering will the time come
FOR HEALING TO COMPLETE
when the pieces will come together
will I forever be in the mode
of having bits of me crashing

to scatter all over the place once again
no longer able to move
just being there open for attack

 unable to hide
losing the ability to pretend 

its all part of one whole
as many emotions wither apart 

separating themselves from the me
to reveal the pieces of a person

trying to fit back into a picture of someone
who will stand against the wave
not drowning under the water
trying to be strong
not let the roaR of one word

BLOW THE PIECES of me FAR APART
LETTING THE ADHESION FINALLY HOLD
SO THE SOMEONE CAN BE A One AGAIN
instead of just bits of the someone that I once was
