My Mother, a best friend unknownA Poem by Lynn HiggsThis just a beginning project to write a poem for my mom. Ever begin to write something you become overwhelm with all you want to say. You know if you do not start you never will begin. so it is simplMy Mother, a best friend unknown Before she left this world She confided I was her best friend Little did I know She was my best friend in many ways Trouble history with her as a child Had washed away Revealing the love buried within Lessons taught that many never learn From their mothers She displayed how to love others Even those who were not loving In the simplest way By living her life Explaining as she went along Many of what I stand for today I look back and realized the lessons
began In my childhood Watching my mother as I grew She had certain rules for herself No gossiping about anyone Go to the source and fuind out When someone is down Even if they are the enemy Go help- them up Love all people Even that society does not think of much Value of the person is not who the world
says But who the person shows you they are Forgiveness comes and goes but
when it goes leave it there The supernatural is Not so supernatural but part of the natural many in the world is in fear of Be proud of who you are In every aspect Do not be afraid of standing up for
yourself But when you feel fear Hide it with courage By moving through it Without giving it power in stopping you All important lessons That some will never learn Most important lesson she taught Even when you do not feel like it Love the best way you can My mother left this world But her lessons remain In all her children And the world still sees her through My siblings and me Expressions of love she taught us Little did I know when she left She was my best friend too. © 2016 Lynn Higgs |
