Fairy tales

Fairy tales

A Poem by Lynn Higgs

Fairy tales

To many these are childhood stories

Let go with maturity

Those us who lived

Through the darkness of childhood

Latch onto the stories

About happy endings

Where Love is the victor

With an unusual grip

It where our hope lies

Waiting for our princes or princesses

Just for us to find our inner strengths

Overcoming the villains , monsters , ogres

Who Haunts recollections of  our childhood

Still living in our minds

Torturing us with past memories

We latch onto the fairy tales of happy endings

Wanting Some resolved for all the pain

let us know good overrides evil

For this reason

We will find safety

Security

Love that will not be diminish

Or tied to secrets of one

Who has a cold heart?

Finding their power in our pain

A happy ending where we can live

Without the darkness

Finding our lighted landscape

To be able to love

The people who are good

Hearts filled with righteousness

Love that does not hurt

But finds a way to release us

From the prisons of our own minds

Don’t take our fairytales

Its all we have to find real love

The places where we learn of goodness

The hope that kept us holding on

Waiting for the light to begin

A new day without our pain.
