Silencing

Silencing

A Poem by Lynn Higgs

The silencing
Been more than once  people sought to silence my pain
struggle with things deep inside
only to hear shove them back in the dark
those who are guilty come along to stop
truth from seeing light
with all the reasons  for others not to listen
without a word I have become
castrated by all the people who knew me
seeking to silence me
before i could state my side
telling me It must be me
without hearing my story
looking  for the reason
not to hear the travesty
only to find a reason to keep me quiet
silencing me
