Blocked Memories

Blocked Memories

A Poem by Lynn Higgs

Broken mememories
blocked memories
all the fear built up
experts say  the lost  memories
are to protect me
then they say but
ypou need to remember
Remembering causes pain
getting at the memories
It like sifting noodles from the soup
trying to get out all the liqiud
just have the noodles
as you straing pieces come back
they may not make sense
fear builds what will I uncover now
what could be so horrific
how could I forget this
arg seeing the images of those
who were chosen
to keep me safe
to love kme mixed in the evil portrayed
wondering what will I remember
then it comes
in a rush
flushed out i see more
 hpow could they
why did they
now so much mroe makes sense
wonderign
if it was etter not
to remember the broken memories
to let them be lost forever
leave the  broth in the soup
just pieces of noodles floating around
forever not giving the truth
of the events that happen
