Pearls

Pearls

A Poem by Nancy A Halbert

Time
Bandit
Steals
Quietly
Under the currents of life
Moves steadily forward stealing while we. Look the other way
Because we must always look the other way
Time
Adds wisdom
Takes away youth
Maybe not so unjust
One replaces the other
Slowly overlapping
Taking away one pearl of life
To leave another more valuable.

such positive vibes from this one...I am getting older but this makes me feel it is not so tragic...the wisdom and respect we gain in later years helps ease the fear of what age can do to our bodies...and we start to understand that our time is limited...
we need to be grateful for the pearls we have amassed...those pearls of wisdom and hopefully, contentment.
