Hold On To 16 As Long As You Can (John Mellencamp)

Hold On To 16 As Long As You Can (John Mellencamp)

A Poem by Nancy A Halbert

Oh The fun old days we had
Under the bright sun
Shining brighter for us
Every day hanging out with friends
And friends of friends of friends
Who was into who
While in the bay area so many beautiful places to be
The great music of the 70s
Always something happening
On a Friday night
So maybe we were growing up too soon and
It wasn't built to last
But who cares it was a blast
We all went our seperate ways
But the memories lightly trip up
In my mind on some days.

well you brought me back with this...even farther..late fifties and sixties music...

but yes, "changes come around soon make us women and men"

John spoke volumes to our youthful exuberance....and your poem does as well....i miss those days.
