A great piece, as usual, my friend. The emotional storm triggered by the natural storm is just as vivid. There have been dozens of songs written about this universal image; your poem deserves to stand with the best of them. Another tour de force!
this is quite good...the metaphors abound...i remember back in 1970, our riots in southern illinois and listening to Credence sing "Who'll stop the rain"
as for them, Rain meant trouble...it can mean so many things figuratively...but at times it pours down so hard we cannot see a few feet in front of our hearts or minds.

Powerful and wonderful use of words. You gave life and purpose for the rain. Your words were strong and true. Thank you dear friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

So powerful. Speaks to all of us, especially those of us who have weathered and survived such storms. And, yet, that rain is also hope, giving life to everything on earth. Nice work!
but a gentle rain can wash your soul, sitting on a front porch of a log home, watching a gentle rain on a summers eve, listening to the drops hitting on the tin
washing your soul
I like the visual device - the list of words falling like rain here PL - very evocative and quite apt for this one.
Rain has so many connotations - cleansing - deluge - destruction - baptismal. An excellent piece here :))
