Ego

Ego

Some people call it Cocky I call it Confidence...

"

                                 'Ego'

Philosophers wrote about me before I was even born.
I parted the Red Sea from the womb.
Mother-Nature herself delivered me…
And on that day the brightest star shone in the sky.
I got the hiccups one day and made mountains.
The chips of my fingernails were used to build Noah’s Ark.
Once I couldn’t stop crying so they built the Hoover Dam.
My tears fell into the soil and overtime became diamonds.
I gave birth to the most un-defined and named her Love.
I became pregnant with twin boys and they were so opposite
That I had to call them Night and Day.
Their sisters Sun and Moon cloak their flaws.
Men marvel and get stuck on my phenomenal beauty.
Women envy me and hate on my swag.
I am the notes that Beethoven wrote for his 9th symphony.
I was Leonardo da Vincis’ muse for his masterpieces.
I got flirty, batted my eyes and caused a dust bowl.
The seasons seem to change with my mood,
But summer is my favorite.
I got bored and traveled north and created south.
I am so perfect that even my imperfections are divine.
I am so fly that I died and was reincarnated into myself.
Damn I guess my EGO is tripping again…

I was going to mention Nikki before I read your Authors Note ( Her and Ms. Sancez are my girls). Nikki is a very self aware woman, and this piece showed me that you have those same attriubutes.
I liked this piece for different reasons all of wihich i wont go into. But i don't know if it was your intention, but this piece made me feel like God might just be a woman with lines like...

"I gave birth to the most un-defined and named her Love.
I became pregnant with twin boys and they were so opposite
That I had to call them Night and Day."

"Amen... I mean Awoman" Andre 3k Love Below

keep them coming.

Thanks

Oh yeah, what a poem.
So much confidence.
People would definitely be quick to call this cocky or arrogant.
So well written, really good.

Yours truly,

This poem made me smile. I love the part about night and day and sun and moon it was very creative. I don't call it arrogance it's just being proud of who you are. Thanks for recommending the good read!!! :)

Very creative very confident. I don't think it's ego, I think it's self-worth and strength. I wasn't hearing ego, I got wrapped up in your Goddess-like metaphors and just enjoyed. I hope you do feel this way about yourself. It's starts with you then everyone else will follow. Great work!

Interesting poem. Gave me a bit of a laugh, though. Overall, creative poem.
