Ex-Like Behavior

Ex-Like Behavior

A Poem by *~Poetic_Essence~*
"

Even though our time together has come and gone there is always something that pulls me back to you...

"
Ex-Like Behavior

I am unsure

That it is ex-like behavior

When you take me by the hand

And lead me to your bedroom

Where you embrace me tenderly

And hold me very close

Just like you use to

It's very unlikely

Ex-like behavior when you

Brush your lips along my neck

Knowing that's my favorite spot.

I hate that my knees buckle

As I feel your tongue run up my neck

It's definitely not

Ex-like behavior when

You slip all of my clothes off

And you begin touching me

In places that should be hidden

By polyester and cotton

I start to cry

As I lay there in your arms, our naked

Bodies tangled up in twisted sheets.

You kiss the nape of my neck and I wonder

Why this ever had to become

Ex-like behavior

I felt as if i was over my Ex but once i look into his eyes and feel his touch I forget why we ever broke up in the first place..He still has a piece of my heart so it is hard for me to just move on..maybe one day...

Wow, the emotion in this piece is very prevelant.
Difficult to get over someone with moments like this going on.... !

The title is brilliant, and the piece itself is extremely well done! It flows beautifully,
and its content brings up feelings of missing someone and then the bliss of a moment
of reunion.... old passion revisited.

Perhaps this person shouldn't be your ex? Just a thought.

Awesome work!

I used to feel like this with an ex of mine.

Then I moved one. It was hard, but I did it. I've been healthier ever since.

Great write that I think anyone can relate to.

I understand this for sure. Passion has no boundaries until we give it some. The ex will always show up again for the intimacy as long as he can avoid the responsiblity that comes with it. Sometimes we don't do ourselves justice giving in, because we are in essence giving up. And we have to love ourselves more than we do the moment. I really like this. Remember. A man can only do what you let him, so the key is not to let him. Good job.

Oh man, been there done that. Beautiful, heart tugging poem. The only way I got over mine 100% was moving 3000 miles away where he couldn't physically hug me anymore. With the distance and time it will become easier to remember him the way he was when you two broke up. It's so easy to block out the bad when you're surrounded by his good behavior. Good luck.

This piece is so moving. And anyone who has ever had a first love knows exactly what you are talking about in your poem. I did notice one misspelled word- 3rd stanza, cloths should be clothes.
Good job, I love it!

This is a very well expressed poem about your ex and that it shows that you still miss your ex-boyfriend. Maybe someday, you'll find somebody worth while to spend time with. :]

Sometimes we stay around what we find to be familiar, just because its a familiar place, safe or not.
Change is scary, and pulling out of a relationship involves trusting that there are other people out there, who will love you for who you are, treat you well, and have that 'connection' to.

Othertimes, we're just not ready to move on, in which case, its almost harder, because there is a grand part of you holding on, wanting the relationship. That's just a case of one day realizing the 'final straw'.

On to the poem:
I really like how its written. It guides you through the push and pull of emotions. This is my favorite couple of lines:

You kiss the nape of my neck and I wonder

Why this ever had to become

Ex-like behavior

Good luck.

Very truthful. It's a shame we can't control the heart. It has a mind of its own.
