I walked between raindrops

Just to get to you...

 

I traveled on a rainbow

And danced on its' colors

Just to see you...

 

I floated on a cloud,

Hop-scotched on the moon,

And jumped over the stars

Just to be with you...

Author's Note

This is a poem that I did a while back, it is inspired by a Nikki Giovanni poem, she is one of my biggest inspirations and I hope to meet her again some day soon...your honesty is always welcomed...

I like it but for some reason it reminds me of a song by the Joydrops "Beautiful Like Me" I think it might just be that line about walking in between rain drops. But I love that song so that is a great thing that this piece reminded me of it. Damn know I am going to have to go listen to it after I finish this review. Oh back to the subject at hand.

I think this is a wonderful tribute and any writer would be thankful to know they inspired you and this piece.
