~Too Much To Dream~

this is not about drinking..its about dreaming and i just added a lil twist to it..

~Too Much to Dream~

I had too much to dream last night.
I woke up with this painful hangover
That split my head in two.

I consumed so much last night
That the toilet couldn’t hold it all in.
…I recall…
I took a strong shot of fantasy
And chased it with reality
Then I chugged a bottle of desire.

Later I sipped a little bit of delight
I took a drink of distasteful sorrow
And distained pain that set my chest on fire.
…I remember…
Thirsty temptation luring me to drink more
While persuasion handed me another ‘cold one’,
And pressure refilled my cup all night long.

I dreamed so much last night,
I woke up with my memory half-clothed
And my thoughts on all wrong.

My heads still splitting in two
…Yea…
I had way too much to Dream last night.

fantastic word play and conations of drink and dreaming playing against one another is very interesting, unique and atleast from my experience very similar in how they affect me...sleep depravation makes people akin to drunkards so closer to reality than first appears!

This was brilliant. I like the word play and the comparison of drinking and dreams.
It had a certain pain to it as much as it did humor. I liked that.
Good write

This was very interesting to veiw the parts of what make a writers imagination as being consumed as drinks to the point of becoming intoxicated with the mere mixture of thoughts and ideas. I really enjoyed this and think it was written perfectly and truly inspired me in a way. I love to see ideas brought to life in such ways

Great Job!!!!

wow. you did this brilliantly- like a true hangover- but a hangover on dreams. It's true- the symptoms of a hangover could resemble a hangover of a dream... But I guess I never really thought that way before. I really like the way you expressed it and your word fit it so well. I love this- I can't get over it. This will defiantly be something I add to my library. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful peace of writing with the rest of us. Write on.

That was awesome. I love word play. I often do that on a daily basis as a humerous way to entertain myself. Actually, to entertain others but they don't always find it as hilarious as I do.
You should check out some other things that I wrote. Check out Hunter Gatherer. I think that you will enjoy it.
Thanks for the review by the way!

Nice idea - well thought out.. I do kind of agree with Rod below me, maybe a little imagery would do this nicely. Other than that, nicely written.

Great Write.

I like the idea and the first line very much. Since I'm an imagery kind of guy, I'd like to know what you dreamed--what the images were.
