Opening My Eyes

Opening My Eyes

A Poem by Poetic Angel

Wait...
not yet awake
sleep lifting and slipping away
Sedation replaced by
Pain
Wait ..
There are things I want to say before
The sun steals
This moment
Dreams hazing my unopened eyes
While my skin is warm
While I'm wrapped & tangled
Wait ..
I'm alone
In this soft aching madness
Broken thoughts
Sighing into my pillow
My hands reaching out
Cold air
Cracks the facade
The dream is gone
Taking you with it
Wait ..
If you were here
I'd never
Let
Go
