His Beauty

His Beauty

A Poem by Latrice Young

How beautiful can one man be, Gently touching my skin as he lay firmly next to me.

He whispers to me with such unmistakable grace" You know i'd do anything for you, To put a smile on your face".

The warmth of his body sends tremors down my back, What more could you ask for, From a strong black man like that.

He's not a doctor or lawyer or anything like that, Just a simple man, with simple thoughts, I really dig that.

He defines himself as a " One women man" , Doing all that he needs to keep this beauty in his hands.

I take a moment and honestly wonder, Could this be the perfect man? " There's no such thing as a perfect man" he whispers to me, Still holding my hips as he lay directly behind me.

"I am not a prince or a king, Being here with you at this very moment in time means everything"

I turn to see that his eye's were focused on me, I can fill the deep emotions he was displaying to me.

He laid his head on my shoulders, Sliding up the blanket, He noticed my body getting colder.

He took my face and kissed me with such passion, My mind, body, and soul felt completely absent.

"Now lay back down" He shyly whisper to me, For the day is long, Just lay down and cuddle with me.
