Desperate For Change

Desperate For Change

A Poem by Poetic Songstress
"

A plea for help from a desperate girl.

"

She makes it seem so simple

When it could never be so difficult

Thoughts she had and words unsaid

Left her inner self almost dead

Even though I might not say it

I'm screaming out for you to help me

Can't you see that (written) on my face?

Broken childhood dreams killed by harsh reality

She wishes she could take it back

But if she did it'd kill her

All things done, immortalized

You just can't see her pain in her eyes

She so wants help, wants to get better

Just needs someone to give you shelter

If you really want to know her

You'll have to put her back together

I like the way this flips from 1st person narrative MM and you describe the mask so many of us feel forced to wear in public and the need every last person on the planet has of wanting someone to share the burdens of life with. So a double universal appeal. Well done. Childhood is a cross far too many of us bare in darkness. Put down that cross and walk free, springs to mind, I know it is harder said than done, as I am much older than you and still trying, but keeping on trying is the key being happy imo. Thanks for sharing, Tai
