Winds of TimeA Poem by RIch Hilliarda poem about overwhelming regret with a sigh of relief at the end
Winds of Time I walk with vacant pleas Down the road of missed opportunities As my path unwinds, I wish to wind it back up But in the winds of time, wishes don’t stack up I sit and I sputter, “Let me go back” Rewind to the point where I fell off track. Regret stands tall. How do I go on? I had it all but now it is gone If only then I paid the cost But what could have been; now is lost. My mind is stuck, thinking about the past It all went by way too fast So upset about the bridges I burned Well I guess that these are just lessons learned Every moment’s a test In knowing that, I’m blessed Since I see how bad things can go When opportunity knocks, I’ll know. © 2014 RIch HilliardAuthor's Note
