Rapturous Heat

Rapturous Heat

A Poem by Vincent Cuccolo

I confided in you

Whispered those three weighty words

An air-borne risk

Targeted dead-center

Heat seeking

Mind-blowingly precise

Releasing the panic

Of my pent-up love

Feverishly flowing

On the swells of ecstasy

I’m a love-addict craving your scene

A RAVENOUS ROMANTIC

Prone to the fall

To this itching inclination

Destiny magnetizes us

Enslaves us by the heart

Who are we to deny the thrill?

The flighty pleasure of it all?

Our truths remain unscathed

As we swallow our beauties whole

Two products of fate

Stuck in this rapturous heat
