High School #6 : A Quick Death

High School #6 : A Quick Death

A Poem by Butch Decatoria

Please don't speak to me

or look at me with your requisitional eyes

because  i still can't shake these emotions

I have for you

whenever you're in view,

in my mind

i repeat our moments

our movements in the hedges

when possession and obsession

become a sequential art

(i remember how it felt...)

Please don't touch me

or breathe your need on me,

my body is still tender, stabilizing

because i still recall how temporal

your textile testimonies of love

how you tire easily of me

i am not the fresh, timid thing

anylonger

(i hated how you hurt me...)

I saw you last night

tonsils in token tossing with his

your new casual (a) casualty of war

soon enough...

(i thought i was over you....)

My breath is catching

i could not speak,

butterflies doubled within,

my legs have gone weak,

eyes gathering torrents

but it was not warranted.

i won't let you see me -- cry

so, i domicile a smile and try

shake your hand and i

die

inside...

I love the rhythm and the meanings... you have such a great vocabulary; perfect for poetry. I felt your pain as I read this. Great job!
