High School Poem #5 - Scattered Feelings

A Poem by Butch Decatoria

Highschool Poem 5 : Scattered Feelings

i look behind...

the comforter & sheets rumpled

once always made

i left my passions there,

you take it with you

to another bed.

i look outside...

where the barbeque grill sits

once alive with hickory,

i laughed with you there

since you take it with you

laughing with another.

i stand in the kitchen,

where the tiles are silent

once clapping with our bareness

i was angry with you here

and you use it against me

now you're with another.

i wept inside...

where you refused to go

once open to your darkness

i'm alone without there

leaving me with an empty home

and these scattered feelings.
