![]() ImpasseA Poem by Butch Decatoria...neither will i return to hell-hot histories, when i carried bareback burdens of mistakes after life-changing mistakes - mistaken these impurities cooking myself in a desert not meant to be homed by the living - in travesty
neither can i wait in a stoic seat of solitude and seeds of insanity ready to take root in my mooncalf glow to wonder if i am disposable as styro-foam - floating in gutterwater without any control of when or to where, and aware that - to continue like this - will lead to the sewage, drain, and filth of an unfamiliar city, so beautiful but blindingly beached an elephant in the room, a whale, so large - it cannot be thrown back into the hunger of a drowning sea, but yet
with a group of careful hands can be lead - pushed to let the waves carry it away back to when it swam currents like silken dreams - floating free and able on it's own. but in this hour of loneliness, beached, waiting in the roughness and particles of sand,
for a hand to help / to teach / to swim away from the things that cut with a simple deciding open my eyes - the road unbending leading to happiness again...
how slowly on my heart this impasse attends how like a fish i crave to breathe again... the sea, to not depend... © 2008 Butch Decatoria |
