Chemical Infatuation

Chemical Infatuation

A Poem by Butch Decatoria

Manic Monday mischief

worked out to Eve's tambourine

wired blood and restless

for a devil's drug-induced dare

estranged destinations

in the pornographic den of strangers there

throwing glass into fire

which flows from our nostrils

lightning skiing in my veins

sharpening the edges, blurring the city,

high def jacuzzi movie

with April's breath upon me

we relight shards of quicksilver

and skin is touch is saliva / rush

in the dented dim-lit dungeon

leather, chains, pleasure with pain

yet when our mouths meet

the heavy air stirs,

demensions of desires alight

my heart aches to burst...

feeding at last, in the sexual

succor of shadows

lost in the glassy haze

of crystal pools and cloudy days

light crawls from myriad midnight

and we hiss like vampires

who never talk of blood

returning to our beds,  to a sleepless flood

of half dreams of him

of whom ignited excitement

melding into my sad, sad need

to nuture a star to shine--i need only bleed

one-sided chemical infatuation fades,

quick rehab on pillow-top

meals of cereal, Gatorade, and tears

for fear of

crying out -- for more, sometimes...

most of the time.

all the times confined....

this reminds me of the dark, twisted thoughts in rehab.
"lightning skiing in my veins"
beautiful line.
