A Poem by Butch Decatoria

“Get ready for work”

And I’m lighting

A cigarette.

I’m beginning with the end,

Understanding now.

My human sorrow.

intriguing to me...read a couple times ...i get this picture of the drudgery of many working people ..stuck in jobs with little recourse nor much fulfillment in them ..i think of my Da...who advanced as far as his education allowed him .. stuck between guidelines of purchasing and bosses demanding more for less ... but he got up every morning , went to work and payed our bills .. for food, clothes and shelter ..and a bit more now and again ... i like the simple statements of your poem ... it all fits and makes sense in a mysterious kind of way ;)
