THERE IS NO HISS WHEN THE SUN SETS UPON THE SEA

THERE IS NO HISS WHEN THE SUN SETS UPON THE SEA

A Poem by Butch Decatoria

Just the arrival of diamond light of stars
across the firmaments,
in the heavens - all one heavenly night
how such infinite wonder
coalesce in a canvas ceiling of kaleidoscope dreams
our days not defeated gone
but behind the curtains of twilight glows
a night light embraced by moon-shadows
There is no hiss when the sun sets, sinking
on the oceans west
it swims as a pearl in the deeps of heaven's own
abyssal seas
this is how I imagine  the sun when stars sleep
dreaming of fire swimming,
the unquenchable spirit that is divine
what is must be like ...
to be beside and alongside The Wonder
that is within
You,
Infinite One...

I can only imagine and cross my fingers
that I may dream,
and when I wake, I open my eyes to see the day,
You have not gone
Always - have been here
and now when evening draws the curtains
navy in the sky
I forget what fear was
because I do not fear to dream of
Lovely Lovely
Love

Life is but the dream
for Us.

interesting ... when the world was flat what else is the sun to do except swim until morning spits him out to do his job ... like waking up teens in the morning ;) thank you for my new word this morning abyssal ... at first i thought you were really stretching our poetic licence ;) there seems to me something not quite right ...there is so much in describing your title ... its like:
" Lovely Lovely
Love" is ok; but too easy if you know what i mean ... your poem overall places me, a very insignificant creature, on the beach watching the greatest "Infinite One." share His "kaleidoscope" for all who look ... thats what i like the most about your poem ..the symbiotic relationship we have with the Almighty .. very strong theme says i!

I love the idea of the Sun spurting boiled water and steam as it falls into the ocean like a blacksmith's irons into the bucket of cold water - I also love the idea of it not hissing which kind of turns the idea on it's head. A real treat for the visual mind PF.
I have to say this petered out, for me, towards the end not unlike the red glow of hot iron dunked into water but while it glowed, it fecking 'G-L-O-W-E-D".
