HOP TU NAA (November 1 & 2)

HOP TU NAA (November 1 & 2)

A Poem by Butch Decatoria
"

All Saints and All Souls' day

"
...Tra La Laa

First of
all saints then all souls
the day after pumpkins made hollow
when life has met its fate
             after treating tricks of babes
hiding behind disguise
with whirls of fog
twilight wisps of white
behind the glamour of  candied eyes
spins the spiders' mystify

After dread of doom and fear is lost
discarded plastic wrapping sweets
in lieu with laughter as a host
nothing here but ghostly streets
nothing to accost our hearts
nor our faith to fracture
just costumes in the night time laughter...

With starlight gems and autumn's
chiding chill
the dark is adorned and adored
is wonder-filled
     and after pumpkins phantom grins
          or Edgar Allen's ravens
nevermore frightening
the morrow will be quieting ...

Do we recollect
or give pause in retrospect
the saints and the souls
Hop Tu Naa
for all the good given
for goodness sake
After all
     Hereafter lives
the lovers across the stars
constellations dancing rain
alight with life
a perfect circle (sauin)

Thanks be
the mothers and fathers
souls and saints before
Hop Tu Naa
We are yours...

Tra La La Laa
