Winter (2/15)

Winter (2/15)

A Poem by Butch Decatoria

New years' snow : glitter and streamers,

The Strip, libidinous concrete highway

thick with the tar of dark secret deeds

manhicular silences seeping between the loud

sidewalk rivers of crowds bleeding into buildings

monuments of fantasy-loss-reaping.

But the sprite lathering lights wuthering

are beautiful these nights

Artificial pulsing of Sierra's fiber-optic heart

desert of dessert trays for hoarders gorging dust.

America turning  cold, high fronting blows

faces masks races

like blank lakes of lack,

still running the fastest of rats

The structures we glamour machined by

those lustful feeding

hands that slight... decay as quick as that

like a slow freezing blight

eyes kept blind in white,

cold here in the beautiful shite

loveless February night

Hell is not hot, its winter

falls cold inside if hearts are ice

I'm just another lion

raging against the splinter...
