JUICE

JUICE

A Poem by Butch Decatoria
"

Juice

Base-jumping towers

Dangerous heights"for thirst of life.

                       Adrenaline's rush.

Quatrains:

1.

Love for all its glowing praise

Be not so simple to reflect

Too many subtexts to explain

Varied lessons so complex.

2.

If shadows speak without a cause

                        Having followed us underfoot,

Perhaps only to have us pause,

Give sight the suns behind us look.

3.

Why do I care when you leave here?

Bare and aching for breath and heat

                        Once fondled me with hunger-fear,

You push away my plate, deplete.
