Three not blind, with cardboard sign
In Bold black sharpie ink Reminding neighbors of common mind Kindly give a drink They put together what luck collected A combined sum of wine or beer Teamwork in winter weather Lessens the pangs and concrete meals The guys are yours and mine Uncle grandpas and bowling buds alike Vegas Christmas for good guy joe The traffic light as mistletoe Blue concrete as sharp as snow Mobile bedroom in their shopping cart Grey as their grime blankets and throws Layers of sweaters no reindeer art With what I know and what I lack Barely and does not change their facts They have become a piece of the background If I could I would share more They could be you, your neighbors' drunk Who's wives have left them in their dust I wonder if every morning they are thankful to wake Or have the gifts gone sour turn to shameful hate When the day is gone, the traffic night light glows Green yellow red artificial warmth And the ground shimmers blue and minutiae grey Drains the fight inside me, walking away We all become prisoners Unable to make a change For now at least make it merry Till the sun returns in May The cardboard sign reminds us that In this moment we are the same... © 2014 Butch DecatoriaReviews
