LOST TIME

It occurred to me as I sit here
Alone
In the dark
With just the ticking of the old clock

That I'm in love with you.

-------------

I hear your stress from down the hall
Not yet having let go
Of the hard day's static
Your voice sizzles
Like rain on sidewalks I hear you

"Did you set the alarm for the morning?!"

-------------

And with each tick that passes,
I wonder
How long it will take me to tell you
And how much time will pass

Lost

Never to be made up.

------------

"Of course I will!"
Unfolding with purposeful hands
Your side of the California king
Fluffing your pillows

Soft intentions trying to still you
From there

-------------

Because we were both too foolish
To admit that we love
One another

--------------

Tomorrow breaks with a panic
As dust on the old clock
Settles like snow from the cold of our silence

Forgot to set the alarm
And to wake with you
(In you)

That morning

When did we begin
To forget?

--------------

Oh btw don't mind that line in parentheses in you... It's not geared toward you, hope not to offend by placing a small innuendo... Thanks for being my muse... Inspiration is divination.

It reads more like a song when it's structured this way. I can almost hear it.
