Bottle Rot

Bottle Rot

A Poem by Butch Decatoria

A herd / a flock / a gaggle
A school / a murder

Geez these workaholics Cosmo yuppies
Yipping
On such turned up noses
And Starbucks coffee fueled feet
To interviews for that J o b
For status / massive / ego tripping
Money hungry tendency
Toxicity of less than human
Would-sell-their-soul to be
Above all else / the elite
Better than you or me
Would-pawn-off-their mothers
If it meant a porche or Benz

How sad the world would be
And has already become
When children are selfish / self absorbed
Self-centered / crippled
Without sense of family
Yearns to be king or kong
For the tinsel throne or
Jewel of a jungle wild

War begins like this / a child
Wanting in tantrum screams
What the others have
What he does not possess

Death and famine
Replaced by bursting diapers
And bottle rot
