BEING

BEING

A Poem by Butch Decatoria
"

Philosophical mumbo jumbo, free write...

"
There is no death, just transcendence
Leaving one room to enter another
Why fear before opening the door?

No bullets just butterfly wings
Transformations

From point A to B
A lepton of the shortest distance
As vast as all our dreams
To somewhere
To no where
To everywhere
Or in between
All waves and ripples

No calculations or quantum numeration
Infinity then all returns to One.

There is no darkness but a space yet seen
No stars in the night
Without our eyes to name them
No destination to find
You are / as I am
Already here

There is no time without a mind
Observe it's passing
From birth to decay back to infancy
Born again without Christianity
Nature always will change
Change is nature
And we whom we're made in the image
Of divine creation
Now creators must naught deny
Our sentience / Being...

There is no death, but mindful in time,
Must wake to open eyes - see
We are stuff of dreams,
Life is but a dream
But who is dreaming?
Or you still wide eyed sleeping?

There is no perfect time than now
Why waste it reading
Believe as thou wilt
But be mindful and certainly Know
Always not almost
We are light made flesh & bone
Creation and love
We are poetry as vast and infinite as stars in their singing
From nothing to one / Being
Miraculous and real
A universe of magic and feeling

We are the curves where the heavens caress
Forever new beginnings
There is no death
We are the dance and the beauty
In the dress

We are here
You and I equal
Being

Loved...
A life full with meaning.

This is a metaphysical reflection. You really cover a lot of ground here, mixing quantum physics with more ancient ideas and philosophies. For instance, the very first stanza is about not fearing death, which is a very stoic idea from ancient rome.

Nature will always change

Reminds me of the more eastern philosophies, specifically the dao - and in the end eternity itself changes...or 'you cannot dip your toe into the same river twice'.

Why waste it reading

reminds me more of zen, and carpe diem,

The ending tends to be more christian, like Ode To Joy - we are equals, brothers, sisters, lets sing and celebrate, death is but an illusion, love.

Like I said, you cover a lot of ground. The problem is, most modern people DON'T live life with meaning. I really thought the ending was perfect because without meaning/purpose, the rest unravels or slowly disappears from the page.

Wow thanks for great review, great minds think alike...
Very cool write. Loved it.
Much to ponder.

On another note...
Have you every played the video game Portal?
The first little bit made me think of that for some reason.
Different context but still...

Life is but a dream
But who is dreaming?
Or you still wide eyed sleeping? Love this write poet. This is my favorite lines. Not sure why, because it was all so mind bending. Very intriguing. Made me think...and I love it!! Thank you
