A Southern PopulousA Poem by Jack CassidyWhat I'm looking at...
Popularity, something we never truly possess.
But in fact, it's something we need, crave, till we part from a society, any society. Dying isn't necessary though, it's definitely not advised either. High school jocks being churned out into new wave prep stars every year are hard to say no to, but saying no to their awfully pretty girlfriends is even harder. However, does humanity ever fully mature? Will we all step out of the shallow water and plunge our nakedness into rapids so large, that they partly resemble tidal waves? To be honest, and I do mean in absolute and under the penalty of perjury and Bible and Bhagavad Gita sworn justice for all, that there is something unkind about an inexperienced, ignorant person, something not so southernly. I can't place a finger of thought as to what that might appear to you as, so let's burn the plantation house down instead and breathe in the smoke from the funeral fire. © 2014 Jack CassidyReviews
