The Heart of Another

The Heart of Another

A Poem by Jack Cassidy
"

Empathizing with others...

"
The garden is only as lovely as the attention paid to it.

For many tears have found its way to the soil,
serving as food for these gentle blossoms.

For me, I fail to notice this beautiful display,
while roots stream effortlessly with one another,
waiting for a response, its loveliness slathered in color.

It seems as though I hear it speak within my chambers,
its petals sending me passages about ruin and despair.

So how does a garden flower keep blooming
and maintaining its fragrance, despite this
torrential downpour of sorrow?

There in lies the genius....

My thoughts exactly.
Hmm, can't say I understand this one. What is the connection to the title?
