RoamA Poem by Jack CassidyA mixture of images and lessons...For days I've ventured into the shadow filled forest, and with unyielding patience I remained sincere my dearest. The nights have been coldest alone, yet my awareness could not have been greater. Witnessing the night prowler's screams saturate my ears, I feel the excitement within the bellows and misunderstood chaotic charm. Each star is seemingly penetrating through the clouds, the glimmer of a golden fortune radiating in the sky. The ground is moist, the soil loosened, showcasing its willingness to evolve and be pliable. On the sides of me, there are branches of trees that look as if they've been barreled over by an enraged wind, fueled by its fiery temper. Upon my crest lay jewels of sweat and tough decisions, each drop and thought trickling down, sliding into the creases of my eyes. This dream, among any other, I've bled for, sold my soul away for its gifts and lavish heartbreak. Till time decays the man, his source holds on, waiting to be set free. Out of this forest would bring my heart a new landscape to grow roots in, but yet I find myself as unique as the changing moments, not relying on the surrounding beauty and splendor to satiate my appetite. Vanquished my obstacle by wielding truth in every direction, for in that remarkable awakening, I saw a man become something more.
