The Mallard

The Mallard

A Poem by Jack Cassidy
"

Observation of peaceful coexistence...

"
To have the keenest insight,
with wings spread over the lake.

Receiving crumbs from strangers,
how fortunate are my friends.

As they make their rounds,
I sit so peacefully still.

Entranced by a touch of sunlight,
feathers now warm and dry.

This is my haven to float in,
an ecosystem in perpetual motion.

Every day is a kind gesture,
as I live in Mother's bliss.

How do I make these moments quiet?
This face of God surrounds me.
